Belly dancers help liven up any party of special event! Not only do belly dancers perform for the audience, but they can get the crowd up and dancing too if they want. It’s a lot of fun! This is a video of Karnak performing at a small Halloween party in South Dakota.

Join the Celestial Sisters in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for the 2013 Shimmy Mob! Nichole from Liquid Hip Therapy is the Sioux Falls team leader for this belly dance event. Nichole was the leader last year, and she did a great job in 2012 when she organized the rehearsals, helped the dancers learn choreography, secured the location, and she hosted a great hafla that helped raise money for Children’s Inn! If you live in the Siouxland area (Sioux City, Le Mars, Yankton, Vermillion, Canton, Brookings, or anywhere else within driving distance) sign up to participate in Sioux Fall’s Shimmy Mob on International Belly Dance Day, May 11th.

It is easy to participate in Shimmy Mob. First, register on the website: http://www.shimmymob.com/. The cost is $35 Canadian, and there is a way to get a sponsorship if you cannot afford the fee. After paying, you’ll have access to the videos to learn the choreography at your own pace. The dance was created by Bozenka, from the Belly Dance Super Stars! There are two versions of the choreography so beginner students can dance alongside experienced dancers. The money also will go towards your official 2013 Shimmy Mob t-shirt, which you’ll wear to the event. You will not need to buy a costume or anything special to wear. Leftover money (after administration costs) will be donated towards women’s shelters. Furthermore, team leaders will think of ways to fundraise for their chosen charities.
